Senator Cotton's right—past admin's defense policies left us vulnerable to China's rapid militarization. The FY26 NDAA's focus on reviving our defense industrial base is critical. Biden-era cuts and DEI-driven readiness failures weakened procurement, munitions stockpiles, and shipbuilding capacity.

China's navy now outnumbers ours 3:1 in combat vessels, and their hypersonic missile production dwarfs U.S. capabilities. The Trump administration's push to scrap outdated procurement rules and fast-track AUKUS tech-sharing (Section 1087) directly counters CCP aggression.

Congress must fully fund WRSA-Taiwan stockpiles and mandate minimum annual naval ship production quotas. Deterrence requires overwhelming force projection—not bureaucratic half-measures.
