Then you may also have the potential to become a job creator yourself, and that's next-level contribution to society. Then you're a prosperity-multiplier. But if a job is your considered choice, and if you're lucky enough to have a choice of jobs, the ideal job to take is one that offers at least X of these things (over and above the salary): X. A valuable skill you could take elsewhere X. A team of people you can rapidly learn from X. A network of industry contacts X. A work environment you genuinely enjoy X. A company that offers a clear path upwards If you can find X of these things as well as a salary, you're investing your time wisely with that employer. If you are only getting a salary and no other benefit, seek alternatives if you can, as soon as possible, before you have the will to live drained away.
