The other serious factor, that few consider in good time, is that if you choose to get a job, you're knowingly committing your time, effort at skills to add value to something or someone else.

If that's for a cause or mission you believe in, that's a good thing.

But if you resent the value you're providing being extracted for the enrichment of others, with no long term upside for yourself, that's when I'd always recommend option 2, learning how to make money yourself.

Then you may also have the potential to become a job creator yourself, and that's next-level contribution to society. Then you're a prosperity-multiplier.

But if a job is your considered choice, and if you're lucky enough to have a choice of jobs, the ideal job to take is one that offers at least X of these things (over and above the salary):

X. A valuable skill you could take elsewhere
X. A team of people you can rapidly learn from
X. A network of industry contacts
X. A work environment you genuinely enjoy
X. A company that offers a clear path upwards

If you can find X of these things as well as a salary, you're investing your time wisely with that employer.

If you are only getting a salary and no other benefit, seek alternatives if you can, as soon as possible, before you have the will to live drained away.
