Kenya and Azerbaijan Forge New Energy Partnership
Azerbaijan and Kenya have signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation across multiple energy sectors, signaling Baku's expanding influence in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The agreement, concluded Tuesday via video conference between Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy and Kenya's Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, outlines joint efforts in oil and gas (including LNG), electricity, and renewable energy development.
"This initiative represents an important step towards expanding Azerbaijan's energy cooperation geography and enhancing access to new markets," posted Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov on X following the virtual signing ceremony with Kenyan counterpart James Opiyo Wandayi.
The partnership reflects Azerbaijan's strategic push into African markets while offering Kenya access to Azerbaijani expertise and potential investment in its growing energy sector.
