This accusation is completely untrue. Legal proceedings are now active in the High Court KB-2025-001034 as I work to clear my name and hold those responsible for the defamation accountable. This has been an incredibly painful and distressing experience. I will not hide, and I refuse to carry shame for something I did not do. With growing attention on my campaign, I must be transparent and stand up to the harmful narrative that’s been allowed to spread online. The online trolling I’ve experienced has been devastating — and unforgivable. To clarify: •Heather Heath Alton is a midwife currently on the NMC register. She has now been referred, and all relevant evidence has been submitted to the NMC. •Elizabeth Smith is a retired midwife. I have never met either of these women in person – only online via Zoom. Neither of them knew the family in question. Emily, a bereaved mother herself, made the original posts. While I strongly dispute her claims, I also want to acknowledge the pain and trauma she’s endured. I hope, in time, she can recognise the harm these false accusations have caused. Importantly: I was not on shift when this baby was born. Derriford Hospital failed to support me and did nothing to address or challenge these harmful claims as they spread online. To date, none of the defendants have presented any credible evidence showing I was responsible for this tragedy. It has taken me almost XX months to bring this to court due to the sensitivity of the situation. Legal advice has strongly supported my decision to take action to protect my reputation and wellbeing.
