Typical, they inject some fear at a critical time, then when the price dips triggering stop sales they can scoop up shares (and warrants too!). Do it right before earnings of course to target max fear and chance of payoff if good news comes. Could also use this to give shorts a chance to cover. The timing of this is deeply suspect.
