I’m not saying it’s worse, I’m saying that as an European it absolutely infuriates me at an emotional level when European urban elites talk about XYZ injustice on the other side of the world while our own system is also under massive strain.
But it only seemed „weird“ to me in New York, but I’m not very emotionally invested in America. Aspen is (I presume) so his emotional reaction is normal to me.
You also made a long post in Italian a couple of months back about Meloni‘s migration / work visa policy in which you also were emotional about it (though more in the sense of empathy for the exploited migrants). So we’re all emotionally reactive to specific things that hit close to home.
