RBI economists warn of underpriced macro risks, as average global tariffs near 1930s levels and new high-duty threats persist across sectors.

Despite global headwinds, India’s fundamentals remain strong — aided by easing inflation (2.1% in June), good monsoon, and front-loaded government spending.

Credit offtake remains subdued, but demand is expected to pick up in H2 as monetary easing and favorable fiscal conditions spur aggregate demand.

Rural and urban inflation dropped sharply, and services PMI hit a 10-month high, though industrial activity remained modest in June.
