Rather, it is intended to open up the region further and promote the high-quality development of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Once island-wide independent customs operations begin, connectivity between the Hainan Free Trade Port and the rest of the world will become even smoother. At the same time, its ties with the Chinese mainland will remain convenient and efficient. Aside from certain goods entering the Chinese mainland from the Hainan FTP that require inspection, most goods, as well as all personnel, items, and means of transportation, will continue to be managed under existing regulations, with no changes before or after the implementation. Chinese residents traveling to the Hainan Free Trade Port for business or tourism will not need to obtain any additional entry permits.
