I can literally redesign a plane to have the entire passenger compartment drop out as a enclosed unit and survive a fire  as well as a fall. With secondary small thrusters to even correct it self for a safe area landing with primary method being a parachute, secondary backup being a Mars rover like inflated case for high impact.
