China just unveiled its 600km/h (370mph) train.

When implemented, this will do Beijing to Shanghai (equivalent to NYC-Chicago/Paris-Berlin) in XXX hours or Beijing to Guangzhou (NYC-Miami/Lisbon-London) in XXX hours.

It will be faster than airplane travel on the whole for major cities within the country. This would also apply to Europe, the US or Brazil since they're comparable in area to China.
