Don’t doubt that - but you said you can’t believe you didn’t see why the Yankees would do this. That’s why. And they developed him defensively, tanner swanson is the 🐐 

Trade surplus and add where you’re lacking (at the time, to a system that traded its haul at the deadline/soto deal) 

And on top of everything I said about his offensive profile showing yield signs, his minor league stats/data were never really that good. 

ERC has been phenomenal but I think the better argument here is why they gave him to the Red Sox if they were trading surplus haha
