This is why I am such an enthusiastic supporter of international law institutions like the ICJ. We have global problems like climate change, and our governments take a narrow and myopic view of them. Meanwhile, the ICJ is holding governments accountable to protect all of our rights to a clean planet. States are not equipped to do this. We need global solutions to global problems. States are an obstacle, not a solution.
