Goldman Sachs and BNY Mellon just launched a tokenized money market fund (MMF) for institutional clients. 📌 Why the buzz? Under the new GENIUS Act, stablecoins are allowed — but yield-bearing stablecoins are banned. 💡 Tokenized MMFs, however, can offer yield — because they’re backed by real assets like U.S. Treasuries. Not really. Stablecoins still dominate payments and trading pairs. But for institutions just sitting on idle USDC/USDT? There’s now a reason to shift some cash into tokenized MMFs.
