One quirky fact about Ripple Labs that many XRP investors might not know is that its conceptual roots trace back to 2004—years before Bitcoin—with a project called RipplePay, created by Canadian web developer Ryan Fugger as an early vision for a decentralized, community-based monetary system without banks.  

Fugger’s idea was later integrated into the modern Ripple when Jed McCaleb and others built on it in 2011-2012, but this pre-Bitcoin origin story highlights how Ripple wasn’t born from the 2010s crypto boom like many assume. #xrp
