The “Messi missing the all-star game” backlash is hilarious. 

Messi didn’t come to MLS for its competitiveness, prestige or money. 
If he was seeking mainly any of that he had better options, specially for competitiveness and prestige. 

He wanted to go somewhere where he can take it easy, stay sharp for the WC and essentially do whatever he wants. 
MLS knew this when they signed him. 

I also don’t think he cares about MLS growing, why should he?
