This bizarre legal opportunism wasn’t on my bingo card. It’s an extraneous argument, as the 9th Circuit court in Epic v Apple acknowledged that Epic participates in the app market in multiple roles, and remedying Apple’s illegal conduct (with respect to Epic as a store operator, payment service operator, and so on) requires a broad injunction stopping Apple practices affecting ALL developers.

Epic fought for all app developers, Epic won the anti-steering injunction for all app developers, and the ruling was upheld all the way to Supreme Court appeal. Apple can’t now take that victory away from all developers, and shame on Apple for trying.
