Sweet Marie, I'm not sure if you have ever thought to dig a little deeper into the history, but the presence of Somalis in Minneapolis isn’t some shadowy conspiracy—it’s a story of resilience and practical resettlement. Starting in the 1990s, amid Somalia’s civil war, refugee programs, backed by organizations like Global Refuge and Minnesota’s Lutheran networks, brought people here. 

They settled in Cedar-Riverside because of an existing community offering support and jobs—over XXX Somali-owned businesses by 2006 alone. 

U.S. Census data and State Department records show this aligns with bipartisan policies and family reunification under the 1965 Immigration Act, not some nefarious plot.
