From Lagos to Nairobi, they live, farm, and build on land they don’t officially own not because they don’t deserve it, but because the system was never built for them.

For decades, land ownership in Africa has been tangled in complicated rules, outdated laws, corruption, and inconsistent record-keeping.

Even where land is available, titles are hard to verify, and getting your name on one can take months or even years.

Land ownership becomes something only the wealthy or connected can truly access.

But that’s finally changing.

A new platform called @IlePlatform  is rethinking how land, technology, and ownership come together by turning physical land into tokenized assets and inviting everyday Africans to reclaim it, piece by piece.
