"Unlike any other chain, the consensus mechanism Canton employs is “proof-of-stakeholder”. In each transaction, only the validators involved in the transaction (i.e. the stakeholders to that leg or part of a transaction) are able to, and are responsible for, validating it"



The Canton Network is a public blockchain designed to facilitate secure, interoperable, and privacy-preserving transactions, particularly for financial institutions. It acts as a "Daml ledger interoperability protocol," connecting multiple Daml-based ledgers into a unified global ledger.
