KRS-One, Kool G Rap, Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane were all members of the group Boogie Down Productions. The group was formed in the late 1980s and was known for their energetic live performances and socially conscious lyrics.  @Chris_Broussard's analogy is an interesting way to describe the potential for a super hip hop group to form among the iconic rap artists of the 1980s and early 90s.
