Fwiw roughly 24TN of the national debt held by public or XX% of total doesn't mature in the next year and won't for many years.  It carries an interest rate of roughly X% so the absolute low the interest on our debt could "cost" is 720BN per year.  IF bills went to zero interest that would save 6TN*.0425= 225BN. His math is utter nonsense
