Red Bull called out over 'crazy' McLaren accusation that was 'just wrong':

— Gary Anderson urged Red Bull to "look at yourself" after McLaren's innovative MCL39 solutions led to accusations of injecting water into the tyres for cooling. Speaking to media, Anderson remarked:

“McLaren, a few years ago, had their brake problem at the first race of the season in Bahrain, where they could hardly do a lap.”

— Red Bull initially complained to the FIA about McLaren's MCL38, alleging extra holes in the brake drums for cooling. Later, they accused McLaren of using water in the tyres. Red Bull's suspicions were reportedly based on water marks seen on McLaren rims in Singapore.

— McLaren CEO Zak Brown dismissed the allegations as "bogus" and commented on his 'tyre water' bottle jab towards Red Bull:

“[The water bottle] was poking fun at a serious issue, which is teams have historically made allegations of other teams. Most recently, one team focuses on that strategy more than others.”

— Team principal Andrea Stella found a positive angle in the situation, noting that rivals' focus on McLaren's cars was beneficial:

“For us, it's good news when our rivals get their focus – rather than on themselves – onto some of the aspects that allegedly are present in our car, and that effectively are not even present.”

“I hope that in the future there will be more of these kinds of sagas because it means that our rivals keep focusing on the wrong things, and this is, for us, just good news. It's just helping our quest.”

— Pirelli stated there was no evidence of McLaren engaging in the alleged practices. Red Bull reportedly used thermal imaging to assess the MCL39's tyre cooling ducts, concluding it wasn't solely air cooling.

— Anderson believes Red Bull's efforts to uncover a hidden trick in McLaren's brake cooling are misplaced, as McLaren has been refining their approach for years. However, they eventually found a solution, giving them a better understanding than some competitors.
