📍Mérida

Founded in XX BC as Augusta Emerita, this was once the capital of Roman Lusitania.

It has some of the best Roman ruins in Spain: a still-standing theatre and amphitheatre, an impressive bridge over the Guadiana River, the Temple of Diana, and a large aqueduct.
