But if you’ve followed me, you know I prefer simplicity over complexity. Watching this made my head spin, these machines take like seven planes to ship, the R&D and capex are astronomical. Yes, that complexity and spend are part of what makes $ASML a monopoly. But the holy grail of investing (to me), is finding a business that’s just as great on paper without needing this level of effort, reinvestment, and complexity. That said, $ASML is clearly a critical piece of the global tech puzzle. Without it, there’s no $NVDA, no $TSMC, no AI boom, none of it. This is a fascinating video and $ASML is a fascinating company building an incredible product. But if you’ve followed me, you know I prefer simplicity over complexity. Watching this made my head spin, these machines take like seven planes to ship, the R&D and capex are astronomical.
Yes, that complexity and spend are part of what makes $ASML a monopoly. But the holy grail of investing (to me), is finding a business that’s just as great on paper without needing this level of effort, reinvestment, and complexity.
That said, $ASML is clearly a critical piece of the global tech puzzle. Without it, there’s no $NVDA, no $TSMC, no AI boom, none of it.
