The award, executed as part of a joint venture, has a total contract value of approximately $XXX million and remains effective until September 30, 2025. JGC hopes a full-scale EPCIC deal will follow as Africa is considered a key growth market for the group. The Japanese company joins France's Technip Energies, which disclosed earlier this month having won a similar preliminary FLNG deal in Africa with an undisclosed client, valid until the same date. Both companies previously collaborated on an LNG project in Africa last year, winning the front-end engineering design tender for the Area X block launched by ExxonMobil for the Rovuma project in Mozambique. The Rovuma project encompasses the operational Coral South FLNG facility delivered by Technip to Eni in January, the planned Coral North FLNG development recently approved by the Mozambican government, and the Rovuma LNG onshore facilities.
