The Cité de Carcassonne, located in the south of France 🇫🇷, is a magnificent medieval fortress that stands as a testament to centuries of history and architectural prowess. Dominating the landscape with its imposing walls and towers, the Cité is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most well-preserved medieval citadels in Europe.

Constructed atop a hill overlooking the Aude River, the origins of the Cité de Carcassonne trace back to the Gallo-Roman era, with significant additions and expansions made during the medieval period.
