Discovered in the ancient cemetery of Tarkhan near Cairo 🇪🇬, this linen garment—known as the Tarkhan Dress; dates back to around 2800 BC, making it one of the oldest surviving woven garments in the world. On the left, its fragile, sand-preserved remains lie in delicate folds; on the right, a museum reconstruction shows its original form: a tailored, pleated tunic with a belt, remarkably modern in design.

This artifact not only reveals the technical skill of early Egyptian weavers but also breathes life into a civilization where elegance and craftsmanship were already woven into daily attire. A whisper from antiquity, still vibrant in thread.
