My business is based in entirely on buying and selling materials and labor and I can tell you that projects that used to cost 1m in 2019 cost close to 2m now. I work on a percentage basis so it doesn’t affect my bottom line the way it would for people on salary or fixed incomes but devaluation is really especially when you take the cost of housing into account. They lowered the actual inflation by removing the cost housing and cars from the index.
