That he read it “in good faith.” Oh, and he’s “sorry.” But he didn’t call it what it was. He didn’t acknowledge the antisemitism. He didn’t question why he thought it was acceptable, or how it made it past producers. He didn’t reflect on the danger it poses to Jewish schools and communities. Does he even understand that what he read was antisemitic? I genuinely don’t know. And that tells you everything. Because what he was really saying was this: “I’ve told you before the Jews of Israel are genocidal maniacs. Well, dear listener, Chris has written in to say British Jews are raised the same way. You know those synagogues and schools with security outside? Inside, young Jews are being taught to hate. Be alert to the threat.” That’s what went out on national radio. And LBC then clipped and promoted it. O’Brien shouldn’t be on air. And if Global refuses to act, they are endorsing every word.
