I mean - obviously? russia was SUPPOSED to keep the US and NATO busy in Europe - by threat of force if not force directly. That's gone tits up since Putin fell face first into the mud on the '3 day SMO'. 

This whole thing has turned into a bit of a fucking disaster from China's point of view. NATO was meant to fracture, it didn't. The EU is now spending huge sums on defence ( it remains to be seen if it translates into actual capability growth, but it's a start ) the U.S. has forced NATO into raising the budgets to X% of GDP and is taking active steps to refocus on the Pacific. They can really only salvage it at this point by propping up russia and try and turn this into a forever war...
