Not medical advice on an anti-parasitic drug that worked!

In 2016, Joe Tippens was diagnosed with terminal small-cell lung cancer and given just months to live. With conventional treatments offering little hope, he turned to an unconventional approach: a dog deworming medication called fenbendazole, along with Theracurmin (a highly bioavailable form of turmeric) and CBD oil.

Amazingly, within three months of starting this regimen, PET scans showed no detectable cancer. His recovery stunned doctors and quickly drew widespread attention online. While it’s impossible to say for certain that the protocol cured him, Tippens’s story ignited interest in the cancer-fighting potential of anti-parasitic drugs.

Fenbendazole, along with related compounds like mebendazole and ivermectin, belong to the benzimidazole class of drugs—cheap, widely available, and traditionally used to treat parasites. Emerging lab studies suggest these medications may interfere with key cancer cell functions such as energy metabolism, division, and survival. Though still anecdotal, some integrative oncologists have begun cautiously experimenting with these drugs in specific cases, occasionally documenting unexpected remissions.
