This is pretty insane. The US just withdrew from UNESCO because, according to the official explanation on the State Dept website of "UNESCO’s decision to admit the 'State of Palestine' as a Member" and because of its "outsized focus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals."

They write that neither are "in the national interest of the United States."

At least it has the merit of being pretty clear: the US is officially opposed to Palestinians' existence and the sustainable development of the world, which it says do not make America "stronger."

But what's also pretty clear is that if the world wants to progress and develop, it might want to start treating America as part of the problem.
