R200 into JSE Top XX ETF. R200 into an ETF of your choice. R100 into a well known company (so that you get exposure to understanding a stock) Then once I start becoming more knowledgeable and confident, I could start adding more to stocks and less to ETF’s but would continue to add to the s&p500/nasdaq XXX. If I had R1000 to invest but knew nothing about stocks, here’s what I would do (with a list of ETF’s at the end):
R500 into s&p500/nasdaq XXX ETF.
