well, you CAN control the CHANCES that it makes you rich if you write for what people buy. And then once you're popular, THEN drop the good stuff. I understand the desire for pure quality, but churning out some half-slop to get big before leaning into the magnum opus could be a strategy to make a bigger impact on storytelling.
