Mercedes wins out: FIA responds to 'pathetic' Red Bull protest:

— The FIA has announced changes focusing on fees for protests, appeals, and rights of review after the F1 Commission meeting in London. This follows the controversial end of the Canadian Grand Prix, where Red Bull protested George Russell's maneuver under the Safety Car, challenging his victory.

— Toto Wolff criticized Red Bull's protest, describing it as 'silly and shameful'. He was confident that Max Verstappen was not involved in the decision to protest, which was later confirmed.

— The FIA stated:

“It was agreed that the deposit fees for protests, appeals and right of reviews should be evaluated with a view to those fees being adjusted. The introduction of a fee for investigations was also discussed.”

— Jolyon Palmer suggested limiting each team to three protests per season, with a lost protest counting against the total. However, this idea hasn't gained traction yet, though the FIA is considering adjustments to protest rules.
