What may have been a 4-7% move back then, today it's a 10-15% or greater. Not just earnings. Everything is overly dramatic now. That's because options do drive prices. OCC cleared 1.4B contracts in 2005 vs. 10.9B in 2024 (8x increase). Everyone's a degen now and post-Covid took it to a new level. Risk is not priced appropriately, because everyone wants to play in the casino. On the inverse, why I don't do covered calls either. This is why I don't sell puts.
