Tropical Storm Wipha has weakened into a depression, but heavy rain and flooding hit parts of Nan and Chiang Rai overnight and this morning.

As of X a.m., the system was over Xiangkhouang Province in Laos, about XXX km east of Nan, with winds of XX km/h. It’s moving west-northwest at XX km/h and will likely weaken further as it follows the monsoon trough over northern Laos and northern Thailand. The southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand remains strong.

Together, the depression and monsoon are bringing moderate to heavy rain, strong winds, and isolated very heavy showers to the North, upper Northeast, western Central, and East on July 23–24.
