There is a 3PM cut off time for inflows/redemptions each day and sometimes an inflow/redemption is the result of several days of the MM buying/selling inventory of the ETF basket shares.  Once there is enough supply and demand the MM decides when to create/redeem ETF shares, the decision is not that of the fund.  The MM is doing the buying/selling not Dan, they exchange the proportionately weighted share baskets of the fund holdings in exchange for the share creates/redeems.  Sometimes the MM will deliver cash instead of shares and then Dan can decide how to deploy it or in the case if today’s inflow the fund received a combination of both shares and cash. 😊🥂
