I had a great convo with Alex and Sid about it as well. As a $HOOD shareholder (~22% of my combined portfolio is in Robinhood stock!), YOU and this type of responsiveness and hyper customer focus, is exactly why I love your company. Keep up the awesome work! That said, I will also reiterate the things that I told Alex and Sid: 1) To me, the 1+ year wait time, slow approval process, extremely low limit and this "2.1% applied to your balance" (presented in a less-than ideal way), all seem to stem from over-promising a X% cash back number which might not be profitable - especially to customers like me who spend a lot of money on CC and pay it off each month. If that's the case, I would much rather you just do a X% cash back, in *any* way *I* want it, instead of X% so the card is profitable for Robinhood, and then give me a high limit and let me be a raving customer. 2) If you do choose to stick with the "3% if deposited to Robinhood Brokerage" or "2.1% if applied to balance" then present both choices up-front and transparently so that it's clear to customers. It definitely felt like someone was hoping that I missed the "0.7 cents per point" conversion text. I suspect a lot of your customers are missing this and if/when they find out, it will be a point of disappointment, not the typical pleasant surprise that they have when dealing with Robinhood in general. 3) In my view, all the gimmicky credit cards out there with their 5x and 10x points all end up yielding ~1% return for the customer. So if you did X% and made the card profitable for Robinhood, that would still be the best BIG BRAND card on the planet and you would still have millions of cardholders in a short period of time and you could scale faster and give people what they want. Thanks for listening. And again, keep up the amazing work! Appreciate you and the Robinhood team.
