🔸️Project Overview: Citrea 

@citrea_xyz is the first zero knowledge rollup for Bitcoin, launched as a testnet in September 2024. One of it core purpose is to scale Bitcoin and unlock programmability without compromising its security model.
It ZK technology enables off chain execution with on chain settlement improving scalability.

Citrea extends Bitcoin’s utility by combining zk-rollups, smart contracts, and a trust-minimised bridge, making it a powerful L2 for Bitcoin development. 

Citrea ₿apps testnet (Gated) collaborative purpose is to provide a development and testing environment for building and deploying Bitcoin native applications (₿apps). @citrea_xyz testnet is needed enable the testing of various Bitcoin native uses cases,allow developers to experiment and establish best practice to validate, refine critical enabling technologies.

This innovative solutions will accelerate Bitcoin’s adoption as money by demonstrating it utilities beyond a yielding store of value.
