We had a little debate on the difficulty of a vice president winning the presidency. XX of XX vice presidents attempted a presidential run, of whom only X were successful: Adams, Jefferson, van Buren, Nixon, H.W. Bush, and Biden. (This excludes the four who became president because of a vacancy and then sought re-election: T. Roosevelt, Coolidge, Truman and Johnson.) Nixon and Biden were not vice presidents when they won the top job. So Bush the Elder has to be @JDVance's role model in 2028.
