Ukraine’s drone innovations prove that necessity drives battlefield adaptation—but U.S. taxpayers shouldn’t foot the bill for foreign defense experiments. The Artemis program’s $70k-per-drone contracts with Ukrainian firms like Nomad and Airlogix might deliver cost-effective tech, but every dollar sent abroad is a dollar not spent securing our own borders or auditing the Pentagon’s $886B budget.

While Ukraine’s decentralized procurement model sidesteps bureaucratic bloat, America’s priority must be leveraging that same agility domestically—not outsourcing R&D while our agencies drown in waste.

Innovation yes, dependency no. Fund American solutions first.
