The "Genius Act" (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins Act) has been signed into law, establishing the first federal regulatory framework for stablecoins in the US. 

The act aims to prevent collapses like Terra Luna by requiring stablecoins to be backed by adequate collateral and setting criteria for issuers. It passed the House with strong bipartisan support, marking a significant win for the crypto industry, consumers, and merchants by bringing regulatory clarity. 

The "Clarity Act," a market structure bill, also passed the House and is now heading to the Senate, with its passage considered crucial for the underlying blockchain infrastructure.
