House Speaker Mike Johnson said Tuesday that the chamber will cut short its legislative schedule this week and move up its summer break to, in his words, avoid “endless efforts to politicize the Epstein investigation.”

The move stops efforts by lawmakers to force votes on measures that push the Justice Department to release more information on the sex trafficking investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

The change in House schedule follows recent polling by CBS News that shows XX% of Americans say the Justice Department should release all of its information regarding the Epstein case.
