I think some dudes just… REALLY love contemplating virgins - and love being told you are NOT allowed to think of her in a sexy way - and she’s the Divine Incarnation’s mom - but not YOUR mom - and she’s supposed to CARE about you like she WAS your mom. 

This is latin culture’s Lady Problems; honed and perfected over time to be made into…. an Idol if someone is being uncharitable - but certainly at least an “allegorical figure” 

of mass cultural neurosis!

Sorry Catholics - I don’t actually believe that. 

But I KIND of *feel* that way.
