It shows how quickly events can get ahead of any narrative the Home Office try and put together. It’s losing control, we can see it and they can see it. 
What is it called when you deny something that is blatantly true?
Will the Home Office be looking to do something, or will they be looking for someone to blame? I think it will be the latter.
