- Carnivores (lions, dogs): pH 1–2 fasting, often even lower during digestion (hyper-acidic to break down raw flesh & kill bacteria from rotting meat).
- Omnivores (pigs, bears): pH ~2–3 fasting.
- Frugivores (chimps, bonobos): pH ~4–5 fasting.
- Humans: pH ~1.5–3.5 when eating, but fasting pH averages ~4–5, same as frugivores.
