There have been more than XXXXX killed since the violence erupted a week ago. XXX Druze fighters and XXX civilians from the minority group. On the other side, XXX government security personnel and XX Sunni Bedouin. That shows that there was indeed a slaughter of Druze civilians, and to a lesser extent, of Bedouin ones. We should not be deciding which lives are worthwhile and which are not based on the countries with which they ally. Just because some Druze worked with Israel does not mean Syrian security forces can slaughter them. This is an atrocity and those responsible must be held accountable. The ethnic identity of those slaughtered does not matter. What matters is human life.
