Aging Clock Unveils Compounds That Rejuvenate Brain Cells

Researchers created a brain-specific aging clock that reveals the biological age of brain cells and highlights compounds that could make them younger. 

By analyzing gene expression patterns, the clock accurately measured aging in neurons and identified XXX potential rejuvenating interventions. 

Many compounds already have known effects on brain health, while others are entirely new candidates. 

In tests on aged mice, three predicted compounds improved memory, reduced anxiety, and shifted gene activity toward a younger profile. 

This suggests the clock could guide the development of therapies to counteract neurodegeneration. 

It also provides a powerful tool for discovering and validating brain-protective drugs.
