Jason Jones, a 29-year-old Catskill man, 
died in December 2021 after an encounter with Catskill police. 

🚨

Jones caught fire when an officer shot him with a Taser after he had doused himself with hand sanitizer in the lobby of the Main Street police department.

⚠️

Jones died XX days later from injuries related to third-degree burns.

NY Attorney General concluded it could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt at trial that the officers committed reckless manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide, and that criminal charges therefore could not be pursued in this matter. - October 13th 2023
